Marmaris Residents Did Not Want the Municipality to Build a Hall in a Green Area

In the referendum held against the 'İçmeler Multi-Purpose Hall' project planned to be built in Cumhuriyet Park in İçmeler town of Marmaris, 77 percent of the votes were no, and the project was cancelled. After the residents of İçmeler opposed the 'İçmeler Multi-Purpose Hall' project, one of the projects presented by Marmaris Municipality as '6 Prestigious Projects', and ecology activists called for a protest, a referendum was held for the cancellation of the project. In the referendum held on 16-17 August, 4 thousand 833 people were called to vote. In the referendum, where participation was less than 50 percent, the objection of the people was revealed with 1154 no votes against 341 yes votes and the project was cancelled.
