İstanbul Governorate gave instructions for the collection of animals living on the streets. According to the instruction given by the Governorate, animals living on the streets should be taken to rehabilitation centres in accordance with the Law No. 5199 on the Protection of Animals. According to the instruction, these animals will be sterilised and treated and then observed. After it is determined that the animals have regained their health, they will be released to the places where they were taken. In addition, municipalities that do not have nursing homes were instructed to initiate the necessary procedures and activate their nursing homes. However, the state of animal care centres in Türkiye is quite bad.
