According to the International Energy Agency's new World Energy Outlook 2023 (WEO-2023), major changes taking place today will lead to a very different global energy system by the end of this decade. The phenomenal rise of clean energy technologies such as solar, wind, electric vehicles and heat pumps is reshaping how everything from factories and vehicles to household appliances and heating systems is powered. The latest report from the World Energy Outlook, the most authoritative global source of energy analysis and projections, describes an energy system in 2030 in which clean technologies will play a much bigger role than today. According to the report, there will be almost 10 times more electric vehicles on the roads around the world; solar power will generate more electricity than the entire US electricity system currently does
